Vinyl is back in fashion! Vinyl siding that is. Vinyl sales are on the rise, and vinyl collectors are driving up prices for cherished and obscure short-run vinyl pressings from years past. In exterior work, vinyl is very much in fashion as well.
The use of vinyl siding is highly recommended for most homeowners, for a variety of reasons. Lets take a look at some of those reasons here, and why we are big fans of vinyl siding.
Here Are Five Primary Benefits To Vinyl Siding
- Vinyl will never rot
Rotting and flaking are common problems with wood siding, and are unavoidable side effects of having natural building materials. Vinyl, however, is not prone to rot in any way. You do need to wash vinyl – we recommend once a year – but a simple spray-down with a power washer usually suffices.
- You will not need to re-paint your exterior
You can paint vinyl, but you do not need to. Vinyl siding comes in an almost endless range of color choices, and for the most part your vinyl siding keeps its vibrant color, despite the weather conditions it withstands.
- Vinyl is practically indestructible
It is possible to damage vinyl, but not to destroy it. Vinyl is comparable to the T-1000 character, portrayed by Robert Patrick in Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
- Vinyl requires minimal maintenance
Basic cleaning is all that is needed. Just spray it down. You do need to inspect your siding from time to time, but there is very little you need to do to maintain it.
- The array of colors and styles is vast
You can match nearly any architectural detail with your new vinyl siding. Just about any color imaginable is available, and new variations and styles are appearing every season.
