Did you see what happened in Erie County, New York, last month? This crew of roofing workers in Hamburg was nearly blown off of a roof by a tornado.
The grandstand roof at the Hamburg Fairgrounds – south of Buffalo — was the project the crew was working on.
An EF-2 tornado did severe damage at the east grandstand, while a group of roofers was right there. They hid in their van, barely avoiding tragic consequences as the storm clouds gathered.
Winds accelerated to over 100 m.p.h. as the workers waited the storm out.
As a Cincinnati roof repair company, we live and work in Tornado Alley. We know we need to be vigilant in protecting ourselves from the paths of runaway storm patterns.
So we take this story from eastern New York State as a cautionary tale. If storms gather, and it begins to look like funnel clouds may be forming, we will retreat from the rooftops of Cincinnati. We will seek cover, and move our vans away from the path of potential destruction. Dismemberment and devastation are not in the cards for us, and they should not be for you either.
That said, being a Cincinnati roofing company has a certain appetite for hazard built into the job description. Working on rooftops means we have conquered our fear of heights. And the materials used to patch holes in a roof are not exactly child’s play. We recognize the dangers of our job, but we vow that we will behave responsibly. We will not put your roof – or our team – in jeopardy.
So, let’s be safe, shall we? We are happy to provide you with a free estimate for any work that your home may require.
